Josiah grew up in the North East of the US enjoying the forests and mountains of New England. Working as a construction worker afforded him winters off due to the cold weather and allowed him to pursue a passion for traveling. Upon visiting Australia in 2001 Josiah got certified as an Open Water Diver ad knew right away that diving was the sport for him.
First arriving in Utila in 2009 to obtain his DM and Instructor ratings, Josiah fell in love with not only the island, but Utila Dive Center as well, and began working there after becoming an MSDT. After 3 years of teaching at UDC Josiah moved around the world working in the dive industry managing dive centers and resorts in Hawaii, Fiji, Indonesia, Mexico and Zanzibar. Josiah’s love of teaching ultimating brought him back to Utila in 2017 to become a resident Course Director and Director of Professional Training. When not teaching IDC’s Josiah enjoys doing technical dives to hunt lionfish and watching his favorite sports teams.
